Run for...a shorter distance than you thought you did

Imagine my shock and horror when I ravaged the papers after the 10k, looking for photos or anecdotes or I don't know what, and found that - ah! - it wasn't a full 10k! Apparently, there were some last minute changes to the route, which left it about 400 meters short - and explained why the winner, Moses Kipsiro, seemed to have shattered Olympic legend Haile Gebreselassie's six-year-old ratified 10k road record by 18 seconds.

Anyway, official times are up, and my ~9.6k time was 57:23, just a couple minutes over Moses' 26:44 :-) Still, 2032 out of 6151...I'll take it.

Even more exciting than the race times/places being posted online (this is a country where most receipts are still written by hand) is the fact that they had a sophisticated picture search function, whereby you could look for shots of yourself by: gender, cap color, top color, pant color, top style, pant style, and eyewear.
