Go Together, Know Together: T minus 11 days

Approved and sent to the printer for production, the certificate for couples that have tested together and received their results*. One of our better ideas, if I do say so myself. When we introduced it to the counselors in the pilot test of the training curriculum, they burst into spontaneous applause.

The pre-test showed that couples also thought this was a fabulous idea...excellent motivation for testing, well-deserved recognition of a difficult step taken, a token that they would display proudly in their homes, and something that would encourage them to talk to others about going for couples counseling and testing. The couples wanted us to take it a few steps further, and provide slots for us to take and insert their picture, and give them a frame. Unfortunately, we had to draw the line here. On the back of the certificate is a risk reduction planning tool that the counselor will take the couple through during the post-test counseling session. The hope is that by actually thinking through, writing down, committing to, and taking home this plan, couples will be more likely to stick to it.

We also sent the certificate for trained counselors to the printer, but I don't seem to have the artwork for it handy.

*Note: Test results are not indicated on the certificate.
