Victory?

We accidentally won trivia at Bubbles last night. 16 teams, and we were not 12th (a typical standing), 7th (optimistic), or even 4th (happened once), but 1st. I say accidentally not because we weren't trying to win, but because our winning was a bit of a fluke. The last round was an Idols round, where someone from each team had to get up and sing a song of their choice a cappella in front of the entire establishment, with the winning team tripling their points. Turns out we had a visiting med student ringer, who got the entire bar singing and dancing to a powerful rendition of I Will Survive. Triple our points, and, there you have it.

You might expect exclamation points over such news, but I deliver the announcement with mixed emotions. You see, this means we are now responsible for creating and running the next quiz. Seven-ish rounds, 10 questions each.

And Meredith and myself are the only ones on our entire team who will still be in Kampala.

P.S. - Once again, I contributed nothing to the team. The closest I got to an answer was remembering the first name of the actor that originally played Willy Wonka in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I couldn't even come up with "Wilder..."

Way to Go!!! I think.
Hey Alan and I were at the Willow Creek Leadership Summit yesterday to cover a table for Compassion International and heard a speaker from Kampala. He is the founder of "Good African Coffee" and is trying to get people to change their understand of Africa. He was very good and made great sense. We tried to purchase some Good African Coffee on the web but no luck. Hope all is well.

Hey Ang,

Yup, I know Good African Coffee. They have one of my favorite chicken salads in Kampala. And apparently really fast (and free) internet. They're expanding pretty quickly. Unfortunately, their track record with paying their employees isn't so good!

Hope you guys are well - hey to the A's!

Hmm.... that's too bad. Not a very good deal for the employees. Yup, we're good here. Ash was home for a couple of days. We picked tons of blueberries today. Sweet!
I thought of you yesterday. I saw a mosquito plug in swatter at the Christmas Tree Shoppe. Take care Jen!
